Production

Final Film Project:

Locations:

Mullins Park: 10000 Ben Geiger Dr, Coral Springs, FL 33065

  • The park's Soccer fields. My mom and I filmed every scene except for the ending here.

My Home:

  • ending scene in my room.

Cast:

  • Ryan Jurdi (me) as Ben Winter, a soccer player.

Props:

Soccer ball:

  • soccer ball was the only prop I used since the story centered around soccer.

Costumes:

Ben Winter in the film opening wore,

  • black long sleeve shirt
  • black long sweatpants
  • black cleats

Risk Assessment:

1. One risk is that while filming in the park, we accidentally film other people without their knowledge, which is a huge problem. To manage my filmer (my mom) and I wait until everyone passes to continue filming.

2. Another risk is actually injuring myself while trying to act out the scene where I get injured. While it may seem impossible, while acting, I was falling to the ground, which could potentially hurt me. To manage this, I would try to land slower/safer to lessen the impact.

3. Another risk is the weather since my mom and I are filming outside at a park, so rain or other types of weather could halt filming. To manage this, I would check the weather app before going out to film.

Preliminary Exercises:

Practice Evidence:

1. This is a photo of the timeline in the YouTube editing software. While I did edit the majority of the film opening in Cap Cut, I did use this editing software as well.

2. This is a screenshot of me testing different sounds to see which one will fit in with the film that I was making.

Shot Examples:

1. In this long shot, I wanted to test different angles on where to shoot for the training montage scenes. This shot did not make it in the final film opening.

2. In this medium shot, my filmer (my mom) and I were testing different angles for the final scene of the film opening. This did not make the cut, but it did help establish the shot I wanted.

3. In this medium shot, my filmer and I were again like the last example, where we were testing different angles for the final scene of the film opening. This angle did make it in, though the camera was more zoomed in on the actual scene.

Commercial Project

Production Log, Rough Cut, Feedback, Final Commercial

Production Log 1:

  • Everything was filmed today.
  • Everything was revised/adjusted based on feedback, which includes editing not just shots.
  • The biggest problem was filming by myself and handling the controller for the console, but I found an old selfie stick that my family had lying around and used it to add more stability to my camera.

Rough Cut:

  • No music.
  • The shots were not cut faster.
  • exceeding the maximum time of sixty seconds.

Feedback:

  • didn't include any music.
  • The fan's light kept appearing in the reflections of the TV.

Edit Decisions:

  • Added two different songs.
  • Reshot some of the scenes.
  • I heavily trimmed the commercial.

Music:

  • Used Relaxed by MC Mablo Dos Paredoes from 0.00-0.26 seconds
  • Used a stock option from Capcut (the editing software I used) called Heavenly Singing Voice(1610204) by Next Design from 0.27-0.59 seconds.

Final Commercial:

Settings:

  • The video can reach up to 1080p.

Reflection:

  • Commercial meets problem-solution structure.
  • It does have a consistent brand identity.

Music Video Project

Video and Audience Feedback

Music Video

Audience Feedback

  • I added the transitions right before the lyrics "reset" after feedback to make it seem like it is a new day.
  • I took out the credits screen after feedback, since I was the only one who made the music video, so it did not make sense to have one.
