Ben Winter sitting on the Bench gripping his knee: (Grunts in Pain) Man.. I am in a lot of pain. (Grunt again) I think I am going to miss a lot of soccer.

Transtitions into Ben's House: the doctor just closes the door and walks in.

Ben Winter laying on his bed in his house: oh, so doctor, is my injury bad. Am i going to miss some soccer.

Moodboard Style:

  • Palette: #000000 (black representing the Xbox Series X), #ffffff (white for Xbox Series S), #7ed957 (light green for the shadow background of text representing Xbox 360 and the original Xbox color to make the audience feel nostalgia), #107c10 (green representing the Xbox One era of the console), #272729 (dark gray for the Xbox Series X again), #4c4d51 (another dark gray for the Xbox Series X). 
  • Fonts: Horizon (for both headers). 
  • Identity Keywords: Instantly, Action.
  • Logo: One of Xbox's iconic logos (the Xbox One Logo).

Script and Shot List:

  1. Shot 1: Ryan stands thinking of what to do with a close up shot. Ryan: Mmmm... I am kind of bored. I want to play some PlayStation.
  2. Shot 2: Ryan turns on PS5 while the camera shows a close-up shot of the controller. Turns on PS5 by controller
  3. Shot 3: Camera cuts back to a close-up shot of Ryan. Ryan: What should I play today? Oh, I know! I'm going to resume playing Astro's Playroom.
  4. Shot 4: Shows an eye level camera angle of Ryan choosing Astro's Playroom.
  5. Shot 5: Cuts back to Ryan in a close-up shot. Ryan: Never mind I want to play some Days Gone. 
  6. Shot 6: Shows an eye level camera angle of Ryan choosing Days Gone
  7. Shot 7: Cuts back to Ryan in a close-up shot. Ryan: Wow, the loading is kind of slow. I just want to switch between games I play instantly.
  8. (Continued of shot 7) Ryan: You know what? I can do just that on my Xbox. 
  9. Shot 8: Ryan turns on the Xbox while the camera shows a close-up shot of the controller.
  10. Shot 9: Shows an eye level camera angle of Ryan choosing Borderlands. Ryan: I think I am going to play some Borderlands. (launches game)
  11. (Shot 9 continued) Ryan: Actually, I think I am going to play Dying Light instead.
  12. Shot 10: Shows a eye level camera angle of Ryan choosing Dying Light. Quick Resume instantly loads the game from last spot.
  13. Shot 11: Cuts back to Ryan in a close-up shot. Ryan: Wow, I forgot just how fast and easy it is to load right where I stopped playing thanks to Quick Resume.
  14. Shot: 12 Xbox Logo appears as the last scene to end the commercial.

Location Recce: 

My brothers Room (4:00-4:15 pm): location of both the Xbox and PS5. Lights would be from a fan and sound would be from me talking and music included in the commercial.

Risk Management:

  • Room would get hot with both consoles turned on --> Turn on the fan.
  • Trip hazard with cables from consoles --> Move cables to a better location.

Schedule:

Filming all of the commercial on October 5th. I am working solo, so I do all the roles. My equipment that I am using is an Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and an iPhone 11 to film everything.

Target Audience - Young people ages 16-29

How I reach the target audience: Scenes from my music video

  • The scene showed a close-up shot of me on the phone, then throwing it away to take a nap, which may grab my target audience's attention since it is relatable. 
  • The scene showed me at an eye-level angle with a long shot lying on the couch under a blanket. This was another great way to capture my target audience's attention because again, it is relatable since we have all lain down under a blanket and done nothing since it was comfortable.

Location/Prop/Costumes

Locations:

  • my bedroom, because it fits into some of the lyrics of the song.  
  • my living room, since some lyrics involved a couch, and my living room has a couch.

Props:

  • my old iPhone 7 because of a lyric involving not picking up the phone.  
  • a college pamphlet since there was a line about Bruno potentially getting a college degree, and since I do not have one on hand, I used the pamphlet. 
  • a random TV remote because in one of the lyrics Bruno stated/sang about turning on the TV.

Costumes:

  • a basic green shirt for most of the music video.  
  • a white shirt to represent the birthday suit line that Bruno Mars sang in the song.
