Sound: As a director, I wanted the song which is non-diegetic that is currently playing called "I walk this Earth all by myself" to be one of the focal points of the opening so as the editor I synced up certain key moments with the song. For example, when the "20 minutes before tragedy struck" scene played the song had a rewind sound which I synced to that specific scene to give the illusion that it's a flashback.
Dialogue: As the editor I kept the music at a reasonable volume until the flashback ended where I started lowering it.
As a director I thought that the choices I made in sound are effective for audiences. I think this because audiences love to hear a good song when watching a film. I also think the volume balancing that I edited in is effective because mixing dialogue with music, if done perfectly keeps the audienc fully engaged especially the younger audiences.
