Commercial Project: Planning Blog Post #4 - Script, Shot List, & Storyboard

Script and Shot List:

  1. Shot 1: Ryan stands thinking of what to do with a close up shot. Ryan: Mmmm... I am kind of bored. I want to play some Playstation.
  2. Shot 2: Ryan turns on PS5 while the camera shows a close-up shot of the controller. Turns on PS5 by controller
  3. Shot 3: Camera cuts back to a close-up shot of Ryan. Ryan: What should I play today? Oh i know! I'm going to resume playing Astrobot
  4. Shot 4: Shows a eye level camera angle of Ryan choosing Astrobot
  5. Shot 5: Cuts back to Ryan in a close-up shot. Ryan: Nevermind I want to play some Days Gone. 
  6. Shot 6: Shows a eye level camera angle of Ryan choosing Days Gone
  7. Shot 7: Cuts back to Ryan in a close-up shot. Ryan: Wow, the loading is kind of slow. I just want to switch between games I play instantly.
  8. (Continued of shot 7) Ryan: You know what? I can do just that on my Xbox. 
  9. Shot 8: Ryan turns on the Xbox while the camera shows a close-up shot of the controller.
  10. Shot 9: Shows a eye level camera angle of Ryan choosing Borderlands. Ryan: I think I am going to play some Borderlands. (launches game)
  11. (Shot 9 continued) Ryan: Actually, I think I am going to play Dying Light instead.
  12. Shot 10: Shows a eye level camera angle of Ryan choosing Dying Light. Quick Resume instantly loads the game from last spot.
  13. Shot 11: Cuts back to Ryan in a close-up shot. Ryan: Wow, I forgot just how fast and easy it is to load right where I stopped playing thanks to Quick Resume.
  14. Shot: 12 Xbox Logo appears as the last scene to end the commercial.

Console Competitor Brand Analysis                                                                   Nintendo Switch 2: close-up shots of the console. Lots of tracking (dolly) shots of the console. Most of the camera angles showing off the console were eye-level. logo sting where at 1:33 the new Nintendo Switch 2 logo was showcased. The effects that was edited in like the transforming of the Nintendo Switch into the Nintendo Switch 2 created anticipation for the audiences to see what's new or changing. PlayStation 5: close-up shots of the console.  medium shots of the console. On-screen text with punchy verbs such as "Keep The Game Going." Smooth transitions between multiple people playing the console. Upbeat music to keep audiences engaged.  Amazing editing of the console being split and then reassembled.
